If anyone is planning to uproot me from here, persuade him that I intend to stay -- both because the authorities allow it and because I have found a way to remain even if they did not.

(355/56) Αὐτὸς μὲν ἠρρώστησα τοῦ θέρους, Ἀλβάνιος δὲ τοῦ φθινοπώρου.. τοῦ καμεῖν δὲ ἀμφοῖν αἴτιος ὁ περὶ τοὺς λόγους πόνος. σὺ δ’ εἴ τις ἡμᾶς οἰόμενος ἐνθένδε ἀναστήσεσθαι μέλλει, πεῖθε τοῦτον ὅτι μενοῦμεν τῶν τε κρατούντων ἐφιέν- των καί τινος ἡμῖν ἐξευρημένης ὁδοῦ, δι’ ἧς καὶ ἀκόντων μένειν ὑπάρξει.
