Resumo

As soon as heavenly grace restored me, my first thought was of you.

Tradução moderna em inglês

As soon as heavenly grace looked upon me and relaxed for the soul trembling at the nearness of heavenly judgment a space of living, granted that it might improve, I did not keep silent to Your Greatness by letter about God's benefits. Truly, with physicians ceasing, the medicine of him who is purchased by innocence and tears did not fail. Believe me: had not the abandonment of those who were treating me come to my aid, I would be worth nothing. For because I was growing sicker through the efforts of men, I began to be healed through their neglect. These things indeed were communicated in earlier letters: but lest the occasion be passed over, I have added them, hoping, with the duty of greeting offered, that you will relieve me with conversations about your prosperity — on which I depend.
