Tradução moderna em inglês

Avitus, bishop, to Bishop Gemellus.

The letters from Your Beatitude, which the passage of time had made all the more desirable, arrived and were made all the more welcome by the approaching festival, which we celebrated prosperously in God's name. We rejoice that it went well for you too. Pray that the Catholic church may always enjoy, through the intercession of the saints, what the rule of God knows how to bring about: peace preserved in the love of all the brethren.

Avitus episcopus Gemello episcopo. Litteras beatitudinis vestrae, quas diuturnitas temporis fecerat desiderabiles, vicina festivitas reddidit gratiores, quam in dei nomine prospere celebravimus et a vobis commode transactam esse gaudemus. Orate illud semper ecclesiae catholicae sancto- rum suffragio provenire, quod divinitatis regula novit pace salva in omnibus fraterni- tatis caritate congruere.
