Tradução moderna em inglês

Pope Pelagius I to the addressee.

Pope Pelagius I writes to call to mind the oath that a certain Severus swore, in which he promised to present himself before the papal see. The promise has not been kept. Pelagius insists that the man honor his oath and appear as he pledged, and charges the recipient of the letter to ensure this happens. The keeping of oaths is a matter of both legal obligation and Christian conscience, and the apostolic see will not allow its authority to be flouted by those who make promises they do not intend to keep.
