Letters of Libanius · c. 355
Libanius → Palladius
Tradução moderna em inglês
When I saw Clematius, I was pleased -- and yet the pleasure was not without pain. It is delightful to see a friend, but painful that the man is not at your side. For subordinates deserve to share in their commanders' good fortune.
If this man has done anything wrong, tell me so we can punish him. But if someone has simply overlooked a loyal attendant, let him remedy his negligence with a kindness.
