An episcopal letter from the Visigothic church addressed to Visigothic clergy and laity on the subject of Arianism [the belief that Christ was a created being subordinate to the Father, held by the Germanic Visigoths until 589] and the ongoing work of Catholic conversion following Reccared's renunciation of the heresy in 589. The letter instructs clergy on how to receive Arian converts, explains the orthodox Trinitarian faith, and urges vigilance against backsliding. The conversion of the Visigoths from Arianism to Catholicism was one of the defining events of early medieval Iberian history.
